Curriculum Open Evening 26.6.2024

We had a jammed packed Curriculum Open Evening yesterday at the school to discuss our across the curriculum offer and how this has been designed by our pupils, families and staff. It was great to see so many people there so as to be able to share just one part of the journey of our school over the last three years. Our fourth attempt to do so - but we did it!

Our presentation from the evening is now available on our school website, under School Documents - Curriculum. As we actively promote across our team, our presentation has used pictures to tell the story, so may not capture the full content of what we talked about, but we hope that accessing the slides will offer a further insight for any family who was unable to attend yesterday.

As Headteacher, I am always encouraging reflection to drive improvement, so part of the evening was also spent in discussion around tables about family ideas to keep our curriculum relevant, progressive and responsive to our pupil needs. One of the pictures families will find on Seesaw is from the feedback we collected on the evening, and I will be sharing this with pupils, staff and families as soon as possible as well as using this over the summer to compliment and further develop our shared school improvement targets for next year.

I would like to reiterate that we have a very open door approach here at the school, and very much welcome any ideas for improvement as well as hearing what has been positive too. As a staff team, we would like to thank families for their appreciation of the work that goes in to sharing at events like this, it was such a great thing for our team to hear today, and something we very much wish to see happening more regularly as we move in to our next school year.

Many thanks,

Islean
