Our Egilsay class started their exhibit creation for Stromness Museum and the National Museums on Scotland this afternoon. They are working with Kirsteen Stewart to look at how textile and layer digital art is created, with the aim of making some products of their own to sell with Stromness Museum.
They have also re-hired Martin Laird to help them make films and pictorial records of their exhibit creation, with some of the class learning how to capture and edit film as the process continues.
On Friday, they have a visit with Sheila Fleet and will get to see how designs in nature are incorporated into jewellery.
What an amazing opportunity for the whole class to learn about the jobs that exist in the world of creativity and in our local museums. Lots of skills, creativity and enjoyment have already begun.
