Bees and Burns 25.1.2024

Today saw our annual Scottish Afternoon and Poetry Recital Competition. Firstly, we were treated to the most amazing Burns Lunch - complete with our lovely piper who brought in the haggis and we heard the Selkirk Grace.

Our main event then got off to a great start, with our classes being piped into the main hall as well. Our afternoon was filled with poetry, learning about Robert Burns, learning how to "Slosh" and finished with an enormous Orcadian Strip the Willow.

Huge congratulations go to our Swona Class who won our Poetry Recital Competition with their rendition of "Ode to A Bumble Bee" by Stuart Macfarlane. They had a tough judging panel to impress and some tough competition from all our other classes (but we think the bumblebee hats may have swung it!). Their winning photo and lots of others from across the afternoon are being loaded onto our online gallery shortly.

Thank you to everyone who came along and joined in all the fun.
