OIC are delighted to be introducing ASN Swimming Lessons to our Swimming programme, our first sessions are due to start on Saturday during our Sensory Friendly Family session in the pool.
During this session, the pool environment is adapted so that there is less distraction, less noises and a generally quieter session in the hope that it will help those who struggle with the busyness of our Public Sessions. We are now at the point where we are able to add swimming lessons into that session. There will be three classes: Beginner (1700-1730), Improver (1740-1810) and Advanced (1820-1850)
In the lessons, a parent or carer can go in the water with the child where required and Angie, our swimming instructor, will take the group through the lesson. The group will have a third of the pool for the session. The sessions are for ages 5+ at the moment.
Each level is progressive and once completed, the child would be deemed ‘safe in the water’ and where appropriate, have opportunity to join our main Learn to Swim programme.
The cost of the session is £5.80 and we charge for the full term (6 weeks). Those on a ActiveLife Budget membership get swimming lessons at the centre for 50p a lesson.
