Next week our school will be taking part in their annual Health Week. This year we have been focusing on our emotions and what it is like to belong to Dounby School. We are taking our ideas and activities from the feedback sessions about Belonging that families and pupils took part in across Term 3. We have also handed the reins over to our Flotta class to help offer a wider range pupil led activities too.
We have already had a visit from the Orkney Drugs Dogs team this week and we are looking forward to welcoming Barrowland Ballet to school on Monday 28th March 2022 - yes, our Health Week has kind of expanded a bit!
But most importantly, next week will have the following main events:
Wednesday 23rd March 2022 Games Morning - games and activities led by Flotta Class
Inclusive Games - led by Westray Class and Rachel Suttie
Thursday 24th March 2022
Support Ukraine Day - competitions, face painting, badges, crochet, and a bake sale led by Flotta Class.
Don't forget to bring your donations for Gaan the Distance, DEC and Blysthwood to help buy medical and educational aid for children in Ukraine. Activities start at 10p and every little penny will really help.
Wear Blue / Yellow - pupils can wear blue and yellow to show their support - donation of 50p would be awesome!
Belonging Afternoon - All our classes will be sharing their emotions dances, class mascots and banners. We will be singing songs together about belonging and taking part in some fun games and dancing.
We will be posting photos and wee videos of all our activities on our social media so that everyone can take part in the fun.
